Project Overview
Working alongside BAM in a JV, this is a Design and Construction of a new 25.5km national primary road which consists of approximately 20.3km of Type 2 Dual Carriageway and approximately 5.2km of Single Carriageway including a section of online improvement. Work also includes the construction of grade separated junctions; roundabouts; major structures including overbridges, underbridges, railway bridges, piled embankments or other geotechnical solutions in areas of very soft ground. Of note is the excavation of extensive earthworks in low plasticity index glacial tills, including slope steepening and soft ground treatment. Earthworks also include rock excavation and earthworks in harsh ground conditions.
Further works include construction of retaining walls and noise barriers; culverts; utility diversions; ITS provision; pedestrian and cyclist facilities drainage works including the provision of wetlands; accommodation works and ancillary road works.
