Charles Wills

Charles Wills

Managing Director

Charles co-founded Wills Bros in 1972 and has since led the way for the company as it diversified from its beginnings in plant hire to a major civil engineering company operating throughout Ireland and the UK. Charles is a respected construction sector leader, recognised as such by previously being appointed in the prestigious position of president of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA).

Charles is at the forefront of all our contracts, instilling over 45 years of his construction knowledge and experience to our construction teams. He promotes our core self-performance approach, has a passion for the projects we undertake, takes pride in the quality works we complete, and importantly he values our people and the good client relationships we make in doing so.

James Wills

James Wills

Director & Company Secretary

James Wills co-founded Wills Bros in 1972 and is the Company Secretary, responsible for all company commercial activities. He provides experience and oversight to the financial management teams in respect of all company contracts.

James also is a construction plant expert and provides guidance to our plant department in relation to the management of our extensive plant fleet and all associated strategic plant procurement decisions. James initiated the company’s evolution towards GPS guided equipment in 2003 and has continually reinvested in this decision ever since. James believes that this investment assists in our progression towards excellence with a “right first time – every time’ quality management approach.

Tim Wills

Operations Director

Tim was appointed Operations Director in 2021 and with over 17 years’ experience in the construction industry in both procurement and operational roles, he has gained the knowledge necessary to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest of standards.

In addition to his operations role, Tim maintains and promotes partnering relationships with our clients, partners, suppliers, and subcontractors and is an advocate for our integrated type of joint venture relationships. He ensures that our supply chain is continuously evaluated and that all partners can work with us towards our target of delivering best value, high quality projects, on time and safely, for our clients.

Tim’s passion is managing and interacting with people. He is a real people’s person and believes that our employees are our most important asset:

Trevor Wills

Trevor Wills

Legal Director, ROI

Trevor is a construction lawyer and business consultant having gained extensive experience in the construction group of the leading law firm of A&L Goodbody before re-joining the family business in 2016.

In 2021 he was appointed Legal Director where he provides oversight and guidance in relation to all legal, strategic, and contractual matters.  He represents Wills Bros in the Construction Industry Federation where he sits on the executive committee and is chairman of the North-West branch.  Trevor also takes an active involvement in business development and is at the core of our strategic business decisions.

Trevor values continued learning and development and since his return to Wills Bros he has encouraged the introduction of our professional development and upskilling programme which promotes the undertaking of charterships, post-graduation diplomas and other relevant qualifications by our management teams.

He is a qualified Solicitor and holds a first-class honours degree in Business Studies from DCU and an MBA from Trinity Business School.

Trevor also performs the Leadership role of EHS Director for the ROI Operations.

Aidan McCaul

Aidan McCaul (BSc, MIEI, CEng)

Contracts Director, IRE

Aidan joined Wills Bros in 1991 as a Site Engineer, progressing to Site Agent in 1992 and to Contracts Manager in 1995. In 2008, he was appointed Contracts Director where he successfully leads teams of construction professionals to ensure the successful delivery of contracts undertaken by Wills Bros.

Aidan’s career has garnered him a significant amount of experience and knowledge of the civil engineering industry. He is actively involved in the development of the company and has played a key role in its expansion in the Irish, UK and EU markets.

Jonathan Wills

Jonathan Wills

Director, IRE/UK

Jonathan is a highly skilled construction professional, who honed his trade on site, working his way to management and now Director of Wills Bros Civil Engineering Ltd. As project manager he demonstrated his ability to deliver projects efficiently and effectively on time and to budget, while maintaining the necessary focus on quality and safety. His extensive expertise and exacting tenacity and drive has been instrumental in the company’s growth and development. As a board member of CECA Jonathan recognises the need for progressive infrastructure delivery that embraces new technology, plant and innovation to deliver sustainable projects that add social value to the communities where we work.

He is a collaborative leader, passionate about the industry in which he operates, sharing knowledge to progress value engineered solutions. He invests in people, encouraging personal goal setting and creates opportunity for attainment. Jonathan is a dynamic energetic leader who delivers best practice.

Jonathan also performs the Leadership role of EHS Director for the UK Operations.

Gary Curran (BSc, LLP)

Commercial Director, UK

Gary is a pragmatic leader with over 25years Civil Engineering experience. He is progressive and driven to ensure Wills Bros delivers to our clients and to its people. The growth and development of the business over 10years is testament to his dedication and ability. He has an astute commercial eye which enables accuracy and financial assurance. He invests in accelerating continuous improvement through people development, collaboration, and technology. Gary is a professional with an exceptional skill set.

His academic qualifications cover BSc in Quantity Surveying with additional post graduate qualifications in Economics, Health and Safety and a LLM Construction Law. His expertise and inspirational leadership safeguards delivery of our projects, to exceed the aspirations of our clients. Gary is a visionary who delivers the company’s strategic goals.
