The New Gairnshiel Bridge Project achieved a major milestone in September 2022, with the delivery of the Bridge Beams.
Four beam sections were carefully transported to site in total. Two that weighed 67 tonnes, and two that weighed 25 tonnes.
Following welding, the beams will be lifted into position early in October 2022.
Construction work on the new crossing at the River Gairn north of Ballater commenced in April this year, and is due to be finished by February 2023.
The original stone bridge was built in the 18th Century for horses, and isn’t suitable for modern traffic.
