We were delighted to be amongst 40 employers supporting Millburn Academy Secondary School in Inverness with their careers event.
Wills Bros were pleased to be invited to an ‘Inspiring Young Minds’ event by Developing the Young Workforce DYW Inverness & Central Highland group (DYWICH) which took place on the 23rd November 2022. The day was organised as part of the World of Work events which allow employers to showcase their industries with the aim of inspiring young people to help make their future career choices.
The event took place at Millburn Academy in Inverness where Richard Henderson, Project Manager and Robin Dunbar, Quantity Surveyor were on hand to talk to the 1200 pupils about Civil Engineering and the Construction Industry and discuss the wide range of careers on offer. They also talked to the pupils about the various routes into the industry, and their own career journey which sparked some really interesting conversations.
These events are crucial to inform young people about the diverse range of careers that are available to enable them to make informed career decisions, and It’s also important for us as an employer to connect with the potential future workforce and help us encourage them into our industry to try and tackle the current skills shortage.
