We are recognised for delivering high‑quality road, bridge, and major civil infrastructure projects, underpinned by strong technical expertise, safety standards, and a commitment to quality. Due to continued project delivery, we are currently seeking an experienced Materials Testing Technician to join our Materials Laboratory team based in Naas, Co. Kildare.

The Materials Testing Technician will be responsible for the sampling, testing, and monitoring of construction materials to ensure full compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements. This role plays a critical part in supporting site and project teams by providing accurate test data, ensuring quality control, and maintaining compliant laboratory and testing records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, prepare, and label samples of soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
  • Carry out laboratory and field tests including: Compaction testing / Moisture content analysis / Sieve analysis / Concrete slump tests / Compressive strength testing.
  • Accurately record, analyse, and report test results in a timely manner to relevant project and quality personnel.
  • Ensure all laboratory and testing equipment is calibrated, maintained, and fit for purpose.
  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of quality control procedures in line with project specifications and standards.
  • Maintain organised and auditable records of all tests, inspections, and results.
  • Adhere strictly to company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures at all times.

Requirement:

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Previous experience in materials testing within civil engineering or construction projects is essential.
  • Working knowledge of industry testing standards and quality procedures.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with clear reporting capability.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Office; familiarity with laboratory or testing software is advantageous.
  • Full Clean EU Driving Licence is essential.
