Wills Bros is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join the team delivering the West Apron Vehicle Underpass at Dublin Airport, one of Ireland’s flagship infrastructure projects. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a live, high-security environment, contributing to the successful delivery of complex structural and civil works while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

 Quality Control and Compliance

  • Implement and oversee quality control procedures across all project stages, including materials testing, workmanship, and compliance with design specifications.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to ensure works meet project requirements, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Identify quality issues or defects promptly and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant health, safety, environmental, and company standards.

Documentation and Handover

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and audits, and prepare clear reports for the project management team.
  • Compile, review, and coordinate handover documentation to support the timely delivery of the Safety File and interim handover stages in line with construction handover dates and project specifications.

Project Support and Continuous Improvement

  • Support the construction team in identifying, preparing, implementing, and maintaining Inspection and Test Plans, quality checklists, and material approvals.
  • Work closely with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to support quality delivery and effective communication across the project.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality systems and processes across the project and wider business.

Team Cover

  • Act as deputy for the Quality Manager during periods of leave of absence from site.

 

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on quality assurance and quality control, ideally on road or major infrastructure projects.

Technical Knowledge

  •  Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality standards, including ISO 9001 and Irish construction regulations.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and quality management systems, along with familiarity with the ACC document management system.

Skills and Communication

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
  • Fluent English is essential.
