Project Overview
This project focused on developing a high-quality yard space for HGV trailer parking to enhance efficiency in the DPC Operational Zone. Key components included constructing a perimeter retaining wall and palisade fence, implementing surface water drainage systems, building an attenuation tank, and installing electrical ducting and heavy-duty gates.
The new location for the attenuation tank was on the western side of the T4 Yard and incorporated the plan for the partial handover of the eastern side of the T4 Yard, which was well received by Dublin Port Company. The material excavated for the attenuation tank in the new location was not contaminated as per the test results and therefore did not need to be removed from site. Wills Bros reinstated the material around the attenuation tank as fill material.
The new attenuation tank location required approx. 220 piles due to the ground conditions; however, the avoidance of contaminated material removal from the initial tank location was a more beneficial outcome.
