Project Overview
This project encompasses an extensive Enabling Works Package and Concrete and Civils Package, including large-scale earthworks, structural concrete works, and service installations to support the development of a new production facility and associated infrastructure.
Key features include the excavation of 200,000m³ for the main building and carpark areas, ground floor and suspended floor pours for the DS2 Production Building and Link Corridor, the development of two temporary car parks to facilitate ongoing operations, and the design and installation of a ground water storage, treatment, and discharge management system.
Key Numbers
- Earthworks: Excavation and removal of approximately 450,000 tonnes of material, including 20,000 tonnes of hazardous waste.
- Concrete: Over 28,000m³ of concrete poured, primarily for pad foundations and four suspended floor levels.
- Roadworks: Surfacing of 13,000m² of roads and widening works at key access points.
- Services: Installation of 5000m of ducting and 150 chambers, including 20-tonne units.
- Insitu Concrete: Design detailing, and construction of a variety of internal and external concrete bunds up to 3m deep.
- Carpark: Bulk excavation for a 41,000m² temporary car park.
- Cost-Effective Solutions: Naue retaining wall system and precast retaining wall sections implemented for safety and efficiency.
