Project Overview
Two Enabling Works projects (Phase 1 and Phase 2) for the overall construction of a new €325 million bio-pharma facility on a 52-acre site within the IDA Business Park in Dundalk, Co. Louth. The Client is a leading end-to-end biologics solutions provider and Wills Bros was extremely proud to be involved in the construction of their first manufacturing facility outside of China. Works included extensive earthworks, reinforced concrete (RC) slab and hardcore pads to main buildings and compacted hardcore around the site building, laydown areas, emergency assembly areas, equipment laydown and storage area, temporary car parks, haul and access roads, footpaths, perimeter site fencing and entrance gates.
Wills Bros also carried out a further landscaping project for this Biopharma Facility which included the installation of the site carriageway and main access roundabout with associated drainage requirements, installation of the buildings’ footpaths and cycle paths, installation of the public lighting and CCTV ducting.
Site wide soft landscaping consisted of the finishing of topsoil areas, planting of trees and shrubs, completion of a viewing platform which consisted of the moving and shaping of 31,000m3 of soil, building of a seven-tiered fanned gabion wall at the site entrance, laying of block paving at the main building arrival plaza with eco-channel drainage and completion of the building main car park facilities.
