Well done to our project team in WuXi Biologics who recently delivered trench safety awareness training to their workforce, which included execution of a trench collapse rescue drill using a dummy.
The message behind the drill was for attendees to appreciate first hand the time and effort required in rescuing someone from a trench collapse scenario, and appreciate how much easier it is to carry out the work safely in the first instance.
The training involved detailed training on how to bench and shore up a trench properly and how to provide safe access and egress, and never to take chances in entering an unsafe excavation.
Well done to Leonard Jooste, Conor Fortune, and Mireia Mestre Cotanda in particular for planning and coordinating the trench safety awareness initiative. A very important subject to cover!
