Wills Bros is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Officer to join our team on a major marine infrastructure project at Dublin Port. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key on-site role in ensuring the safe delivery of complex marine and civil engineering works in a dynamic port environment. The Health & Safety Officer will support the implementation and monitoring of health and safety systems on site, working closely with project management, site teams, and subcontractors to maintain the highest safety standards. The role requires a proactive presence on site and a strong commitment to promoting a positive safety culture across all project activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor site-specific health and safety plans and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations.
  • Identify hazards and support the development and implementation of risk controls.
  • Assist with risk assessments and method statements for marine and civil works.
  • Promote safe working practices in a busy port and marine environment.
  • Deliver site inductions and support toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, and assist in preparing reports and corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with Irish health and safety legislation and company policies.
  • Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and port authorities on safety matters.
  • Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Health & Safety essential.
  • 5 years’ experience in a health and safety role within construction, civil engineering, or marine project essential.
  • Knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and site compliance requirements essential.
  • Experience working in a marine or port environment is an advantage.
  • Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive, team-oriented approach with a strong on-site presence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
