N17 Realignment at Castletown

The scheme is located on the N17 and commences approximately 5km north of the town of Tuam and runs northwards for a distance of 2km.

The contract encompasses a single carriageway realignment of the N17 through the townland of Castletown, on which all junctions will be at grade, there are also various staggered and T-junctions.

The works shall involve earthworks, excavation, road pavements, surface water drains, culverts, utility services and ducts, signing and lining, accommodation works and traffic management.

The carriageway is designed to DMRB design standards with a carriageway width of 7.3m with 2.5m hardshoulders and 3.0m grass verge.
