Smithfield Improvement Scheme – Phase 2

These works involved site clearance, the completion of Landscaping and amenity value of the North end of Smithfield through the construction of a Terraced lawn complete with seating benches and feature lighting, in conjunction with the improvement of the existing layout and amenity value of the South end of Smithfield and Arran Street. The removal of the existing Dublin Bikes stand, which was replaced with a new Bike Stand with twice the capacity of the old existing bike stand. Other improvements were the removal, cleaning and relaying the existing Antique Granite Sett’s and Kerbs, the construction of feature tree pits, play areas, bespoke street furniture complete with Limestone Spherical Bollards and feature lighting. All of the roads bounding Smithfield were resurfaced with either existing Antique Granite Sett’s or new granite Sett’s, which greatly improved the drivability of these roads. Another major improvement was south of the Luas with the construction of a raised Plaza Area with a stunning weave pattern paving complete with seating benches and feature lighting.
